Behind the Artwork

Set in a bathtub, deliberately, to hold the vulnerability of the moment. "The playful ghost hiding the mirror knows about my BDD, it's shielding me from looking at it. The white cute monster is me. There's a huge rubber ducky that represents my childhood, and it's gotten bigger and bigger as I've grown older." A door sits on the right for the rabbit to enter, the clock above it striking midnight, his arrival close. On the left, Sammy has drawn her own small white rabbit, "maybe to appease him, but also so he'd know I was aware he was coming."
Waiting for the White Rabbit is the first piece in a four-part series born out of a rough stretch mentally, when Sammy gave a nod to Alice following the rabbit down into a world turned upside down.
