Every time war breaks out in Lebanon, a familiar and unwelcome sound fills the sky: the constant hum of the MK drone.
If mosquitoes are distracting, imagine trying to work, think, or sleep with that relentless buzzing overhead, day and night. For many Lebanese, it becomes an inescapable part of daily life, stealing concentration by day and disrupting rest by night.
Nour Arkilo created this illustration as a message to that persistent presence. Beyond its immediate reference, the work speaks to the negative voices and unnecessary noise that often surround us. Like the drone's continuous hum, these distractions can occupy our minds and disturb our peace. The illustration serves as a reminder that sometimes, the most important thing we can do is silence the noise and reclaim a sense of calm.
