Much of Nour Arkilo's work is inspired by the sky. For her, looking up at the clouds brings a sense of peace and wonder, offering a brief escape from the weight of everyday life.
Three years ago, she lost her young cousin, who had Down syndrome. On his memorial keepsake were the words "الحياة لا تعرف الكمال إلا بالحب" meaning, "Life knows no perfection except through love." The phrase left a lasting impression and remains deeply meaningful to her.
Since then, looking up at the sky has taken on an even deeper significance. It serves as a reminder that those we love never truly leave us, and that love endures beyond absence. Through this work, she invites viewers to reflect on what truly matters in life: the simple yet profound act of loving one another. It is both a personal tribute and a gentle reminder that meaning, connection, and beauty are often found in life's simplest moments.
