Baba Ghannouj Recipe

One piece out of three illustrations that Nour Arkilo initially worked on as a freelance project for a restaurant. They quickly became one of her favourite illustrations.

Her love of cooking began in childhood, perched on the kitchen counter beside her mother, passing ingredients as meals came together. Years later, the kitchen remains her happy place, a source of comfort, creativity, and joy whether she is tired, sad, or simply looking for something to do.

She says that there could be no better subject to illustrate than Lebanese cuisine. Infused with nostalgia, affection, and a touch of humour, the artwork celebrates the rich flavours and traditions of Lebanese food, with, of course, some extra toum (garlic paste in Arabic).
