Homme Femme Oiseau

This one came out of a gouache phase, more structured than her usual improvisation, pencil underdrawings first, an A4 format with rounded, medallion-like edges. The original idea was about lovers, and specifically about the same body part touching the same body part: hand on hand, lips on lips, nose on nose, chest on chest. “People don't think about it much, but the same organ touching the same organ is a beautiful thing. It's sensorial.” The idea, in her words, “died in the process.” What emerged instead was a rougher love story, a couple guided, somehow, by the freedom of a single bird.
